It's a fun little diversion, and some of the leagues have some extremely close racing, but it's never really evolved beyond that. The ROR mod from Sim Monsters drives like really big RC trucks with moon gravity enabled. Not their fault, not many physics gurus are huge monster truck enthusiasts on the side. Guys try every now and then to make alternate sets of physics, but it never really goes anywhere because of the community's general inexperience. So what happens is that you can find every variation of Grave Digger that's ever participated in an event since 1990 - even if it's just a simple rim color change - but the physics of the trucks remain as they were in early 2011 when the first major mod package was released. Tons of additional content is available (plus organized online leagues), but very few community members have even bothered to dive into the physics side of things over the past six years. Rigs of Rods has, but the scene is basically 50% young kids, and 50% entry-level modders. Don't aimlessly downvote me on this one because this is relevant information.
